One of the most exciting plays in baseball is an outfielder robbing a home run. Whether they fall behind the fence, or land in play, it is always a great play to witness. In MLB The Show 23, you can recreate this type of play and re-live the excitement.
It is important for your outfielder to have good ratings in both speed and fielding. With this maneuver already difficult to pull off, a player without those ratings will just drop the ball even after a perfectly timed jump. Speed helps get to the wall and gives you more time to time the jump, while fielding helps you catch the ball. This play is extremely difficult, but possible.
As you utilize the aforementioned speed, you will notice three yellow arrows where the ball is about to land. This indicates the opportunity to rob a home run. They will slowly light up green, and when the third arrow is green, press the jump button (R1).
Pro Tip: Count “1, 2, 3, jump” out loud to time the jump.
Common mistakes include jumping on the third beat and jumping as if the ball will land on the fourth beat. To successfully pull this off, use our Pro Tip and jump when you say “jump”.
